This project led by Professor Werner Kraus Jr. of Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, and with significant contribution of the then student and now Professor Rodrigo Carlson, concerned the deployment of a Adaptive Signal Control System. The research was conducted in partnership with Technical University of Crete, which had previously designed and deployed an adaptive signal controller and with the private sector in Brazil (Brascontrol). The public sector also played a major role with support for development (FINEP) and on its first deployment (Municipality of Macaé, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).
